How probiotics superintend Enteric nervous system?

Enteric nervous system is the human’s second brain. All those ‘gut feelings’, ‘gone with the gut’, ‘butterflies in my stomach’ are triggered by this ENS. Though it does not play a part on ‘how to solve a calculus problem’, It has its own impact on our body.

The major neurotransmitter serotonin which gets released during situational stress, is governed by this ENS. Everyday emotional well-being may rely on messages from the brain below(ENS) to the brain above.

‘Good food makes everything great’ , is a wise example to set how food plays a major cause for both psychological and physiological changes, if a person eats spicy food or has taken spice beyond his/her limit the microorganisms trigger certain hormone such as Acetlycholine in excess than in its normal range which in-turn leads to increased aggression, anger. On the contrary, if a person consumes more sugary deserts like ice creams, cake it will results in instant changes in their mood because of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, etc.

Microorganisms such as Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Actinobacteria, and Proteobacteria, etc. provokes 30 different neurotransmitters in the Gut-brain axis. But the abnormal intake of junks leads to apocalypse within these microorganisms, which results causing metabolic disorders (diabetes mellitus) to psychological disorders (depression & anxiety). To enhance gut-flora, Probiotics are directed for patients suffering from TY2DM and Dysthymia where scientific results shows the recovery of these above mentioned micro-organisms.

Probiotic microorganism like lactobacillus which is an target specific and ac antagonistic to depressive hormones and are highly endorsed by doctors for chronic depressive patients, vouching that probiotics goes hand-in-hand as a gut-brain enhancer because they not only act as best alternative medication for TY2DM also serves as mood lifter by influencing vagus nerve thus improves gradual recovery from PTSD disorders.

Probiotics rich in Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium provide an ameliorate environment. They increases the excitatory postsynaptic potential stimulators at the schaffer collateral areas, in the hippocamus, which directs the signal towards the serum level of glucose, insulin, superoxide dismutase, and 8-hydroxy-2’-deoxyguanosine, this in turn reactivates the sulphate production and regulates the glucose metabolic action by which it tempts to intake more good food and methodize timeworn processes inside our body.

And I would like to espouse that probiotics enhances the gut-brain-axis mechanism and regulating the hormonal action of the gastro-intestinal tract. Thus the consumption of probiotics should increase in daily life, as action of probiotics gives one-shot-two-kill mechanism by

  1. Regulating the hormonal action in the intestinal tract amd modulating the microbes
  2. By paving the emotional wellbeing by reverse-stimulating the behavioural responsive stress.
